Are flower essences the same as essential oils?
No. Flower essences and essential oils are different.
Flower essences are liquid, energetic remedies made from the flowers of living plants. They have no odor, color or taste. They are preserved in an alcohol base and are usually taken orally.
Essential oils are distillations of aromatic compounds found in seeds, bark, stems, roots and flowers. The oils have a fragrance and are usually used externally.
Can I still use flower essences if I am allergic to or don’t want to consume alcohol?
Yes. Delta Gardens can preserve essences with vinegar instead of brandy, if you have a sensitivity to alcohol. If you would rather not ingest flower essences at all, you can place a few drops on your body and rub the essence into your skin.
Are flower essences recommended for children?
Yes. Children, because of their sensitivity, respond well to the subtle nature of the essences. Flower essences can help children with many emotional and behavioral issues.
Will flower essences interfere with any medications?
No. Although flower essences work best in a medication-free system, they do not interfere with or complicate the action of any medication.
Are flower essences always taken orally?
No. Flower essences can be used in a variety of ways. You can take them orally, rub them into your skin, add them to spray bottles or mix them into bathwater or foot soaks. How you use flower essences really depends on your personal preferences and lifestyle.
Can I select essences for myself or should I ask a trained flower essence practitioner for help?
Both methods work well. The descriptions associated with all Delta Gardens products make selection simple and effective. However, you may have a deeper experience if you work with a trained practitioner who knows how to apply the subtleties of the essences to your system.
How often can I take flower essences?
Although the standard dosage is three drops, three times a day, there are no rigid rules. You can adjust the dosage, depending on your needs and the intensity of the issues you are working through. More challenging issues may require more frequent doses.
Are there any circumstances in which I should not take essences?
Yes. You should not use essences as the main intervention for emotional, mental or physical conditions that require professional medical care.
When can I expect to see changes after taking flower essences?
In some cases, the shift is immediate and dramatic, and in other cases, results become apparent over days, weeks or even months. Everyone responds a little differently to flower essences. This variation is due to a number of factors including your system’s receptivity to energetic remedies, the nature of the issues you are addressing, etc.
