🌼 You're devoting a whole workshop to flower essences and self-esteem.  Can you tell us why you wanted to explore this topic?
David: Self-esteem is not simply an idea of how we feel about ourselves. Â It's an energetic reality that forms the basis for our success - our power to engage the world and acquire what we need from life. It provides a source of energy that ignites mitochondria and serves as a foundation for many aspects of health. Â Self-esteem allows us to move confidently and effectively in the world.Â
One cornerstone of self-esteem lies in chakra 2. Â Here, we operate a mechanism that has been formed since we were very young. Â It is here that we have learned the two vital functions for healthy self-esteem: taking in energy in the form of enjoyment-pleasure and protecting ourselves from negative or harmful energy.
When we do these two things consistently and efficiently, our esteem thrives. Â Our health, well-being and abundance also thrive. When we cannot allow for sufficient pleasure in our lives or when we are unable to set effective boundaries with users, abusers and petty tyrants, then our esteem cannot absorb sufficient energy for us to use to realize our dreams.
Many adults today have been unable to pursue happiness because of the programming contained in this chakra. Â This programing can be changed with some insight and the judicious application of specific flower essences.
🌼 What happens when a person's self-esteem is damaged? Â
David: Damaged self-esteem will increase anxiety, affect sleep and lead to an avoidance of fun and pleasure. Â It can manifest in an inability to set boundaries with people, and it can also generate shame in our appearance, social status, achievements, etc. Â People who have an overly-serious or ungrounded personality often struggle with self-esteem issues as do people who are unable to express their opinions effectively, are haunted by negative thinking, are overly critical, have low confidence, feel powerless or unworthy in life and are vulnerable to addictions.
🌼 What can flower essences do to address self-esteem issues?
David: Flower essences help us feel safe which is essential for building energy. Â They also support feelings of worthiness and help us develop a healthy relationship to fun, pleasure and recreation. Â Essences build positive thinking, confidence and focused action. Â They protect the system by creating better boundaries.
🌼 Who will benefit from this workshop?
David: It's for people who feel that their esteem is low or damaged, people who have experienced trauma or who struggle with feelings of shame. Â It's for people who were taught they they needed to work to deserve pleasure, are haunted by negative self-talk and shy away from expressing themselves. Â The class will be useful for anyone with poor metabolic health or addictive tendencies. Â Really, it's for anyone who feels unable to move beyond struggle and manifest a better life.
